Lisa Charles is a woman who has an affinity for life and fitness. She understands that life’s journey is not a straight line but a fortuitous maze of twists and turns. Each choice made enriches each chapter of life, as Lisa says, “Carpe diem,” or seize the day!
Lisa is a graduate of Tufts and George Washington Universities; her first stop in her journey was as an attorney. The next stop was as Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, Brooklyn. Later she became Civil Rights Coordinator for New Jersey. After more than a decade of practicing law, she turned to the performing arts.
This gifted performer achieved success in commercials, off-Broadway productions, television, and singing at Carnegie Hall. Then she temporarily lost her voice due to a throat infection. But that did not deter her because she reexamined what was most important to her; helping people improve their lives.
She decided to go into health coaching and personal training. Her first client was herself; she resolved both her nutrition issues and inconsistent daily exercise and lost 77 pounds. Fitness became her passion.
Lisa now inspires people to live healthily and flip the script on aging. She coaches people on knowing who they are inside and out and getting fit while having fun.
This Renaissance woman has a book to be released at the end of May, Yes! Commit. Do. Live.
YAAHA is pleased to feature Lisa Charles during Women’s History Month for her remarkable journey in helping people.
